How long does a laptop repair take? +
Common service jobs (cleaning, SSD replacement, RAM upgrade, reinstall) we often manage by the next day. For a display, keyboard or battery it depends on part availability — roughly from 2 working days. More complex repairs (a motherboard, reballing, BGA) we handle individually — we tell you the turnaround and the odds of success after diagnostics.
What should I do with a laptop after a spill? +
Switch it off immediately (hold the power button for 10 seconds), unplug the power, **don’t put it on a radiator or use a hairdryer** (condensation makes things worse). Don’t switch it on until you know how extensive the damage is. Call 774 777 774 and we’ll arrange a quick inspection. The sooner, the higher the chance of saving it.
What warranty do I get on the service? +
Claims are handled individually under the law. If the same fault returns within a short time, we look at it together and agree on the next steps. New parts carry the standard manufacturer warranty (12–24 months depending on the component).
Can you come to my home? +
With a laptop it’s usually faster to hand it in at the workshop (Viniční 3587/216). If you can’t come, we’ll arrange a pickup within Brno city (rate 698 CZK). Outside Brno city, travel is charged by distance.
What does a battery replacement for a Lenovo ThinkPad cost? +
Labour from 598 CZK; an original Lenovo battery typically 1,500–2,500 CZK depending on the model. For older models (T440, T450, T460) the battery can be cheaper.
Is it worth repairing an eight-year-old laptop? +
It depends on the fault. An SSD or RAM replacement almost always makes sense. A motherboard replacement on an eight-year-old machine usually doesn’t — the part costs close to a used laptop. We’ll advise after diagnostics.
Do you service MacBooks? +
Hardware repairs yes (battery, display, keyboard, cleaning after a spill). We leave macOS software problems to the authorised Apple network — we don’t have the deepest expertise there. If you have a MacBook hardware issue, call 774 777 774.
Should I back up my data before the repair? +
Ideally yes. If you can’t (the laptop won’t boot), we’ll back it up as part of the service. For serious drive faults this can be the first step — we protect the data before anything gets repaired.
