How much does a call-out around Brno cost?
A call-out around Brno is a separate item (travel plus on-site work, depending on the scope) — we’ll tell you the rate up front over the phone, based on your problem. For Kuřim, Modřice, Šlapanice and other towns within 30 km of Brno we add travel costs by distance. Call +420 774 777 774 — we can often come out the same day. How long does a laptop repair take?
It depends on the fault and parts availability. Common repairs such as replacing a screen, keyboard or drive we handle by the next day, provided we have the parts in stock. More involved motherboard-level repairs take 3–5 working days. We always tell you the expected turnaround in advance — you shouldn’t have to wait around for no reason.
Do you only fix Windows, or also Mac and Linux?
We specialise primarily in Windows PCs and laptops, where we have the most know-how. We repair MacBooks at the hardware level — battery and screen replacements, cleaning after spills — but we leave complex macOS software issues to authorised service centres. With Linux we handle hardware diagnostics and installation, but we don’t provide advanced system support. If you’re not sure, call +420 774 777 774.
What if the repair isn’t worth it?
If a repair doesn’t make economic sense — say, on an old laptop where a new motherboard would cost more than a new machine — we’ll tell you so honestly. We do always charge for the diagnostics, because we’ve spent time on the problem. We can help you back up your data and suggest a suitable replacement. We don’t want you throwing money at something that isn’t worth fixing.
How do you handle warranty claims?
We handle claims individually, in line with the law. If the same fault comes back within a short time, we’ll look at it together and agree on the next step — we don’t want you paying twice for the same thing. New parts carry the standard manufacturer’s warranty (typically 12–24 months, depending on the component). We are ITHOPE s.r.o., in the trade since 2008.
Do you also do preventive laptop cleaning?
Yes — cleaning the cooling and replacing the thermal paste is routine work for us. On gaming laptops and machines that overheat, it markedly extends their life and cuts the noise. The price depends on the model — we’ll tell you up front over the phone. Prevention is always cheaper than replacing a burnt-out graphics chip.
Can I buy a refurbished computer from you?
Yes — from time to time we have refurbished laptops and desktops in stock that have been through full diagnostics and cleaning. They all come with a new SSD and a legal copy of Windows. We’ll go over the current stock and price over the phone, or drop by Viniční 3587/216 in Brno-Židenice, Mon–Fri 10:00–16:00.
